Brown Chicken Brown Cow is a family kitchen in the truest sense — locally owned by John and Abby Hannah, who have been feeding Carrollton for the better part of three decades.
If you've eaten out in this town any time in the last thirty years, there's a good chance they had something to do with it.
How We Got Here
Carrollton through and through.
John and Abby's story in the restaurant business starts right here on South Park Street. In 1998 they opened Shuckers Oyster Bar in this very building — a lively local spot where folks came for good food, cold drinks, and the kind of welcome that turns first-timers into regulars.
Shuckers became a Carrollton fixture, and its legacy carries on with the Acquaotta family. But John and Abby weren't done cooking. They had one more chapter in them — one built around the kind of Southern food they grew up on: meat & three plates, vegetables cooked like somebody's grandmother was watching, and desserts made from scratch every morning.
In December 2025 they opened Brown Chicken Brown Cow, right back on the same corner where it all started. Same building. Same welcome. A whole new spread.
